Utilisations du cheval

Versatile, war horse, party horse (fantasia), excellent horse for driving, it is sought after for leisure riding (hiking) or even sports (show jumping, dressage, endurance, polo, etc.). This oriental type of saddle horse, one of the oldest breeds in the world, could have, according to Piètrement, an Asian origin (Mongolia) or, according to Sanson, an African origin. Let’s remember that the word Barbaric, derived from Berberie, has been used since the Middle Ages to designate the countries of North Africa, itself coming from the name of the indigenous populations, the Berbers. Let us also note that the synonym of Bearded horse is Berber horse. This horse was crossed with the Arabian and it would have contributed to the creation of the old Genet of Spain from which derives the Andalusian or Purebred Spanish horse as well as the English Thoroughbred. He also participated in the development of the Connemara, the Criollo, and the Mustang. After having been widespread in France, its Stud Book was suppressed in 1962. Once again recognized, the stud book is maintained by the Stud farm since 1988.
