The Karabakh horse
The Karabakh or Karabagb, an ancient pony-sized saddle horse, originated in the Karabakh mountains of the Central Asian state of Azerbaijan. Of oriental descent, having received blood from Arabian, Akhal-Teke, and Turkmen horses, it has contributed to the formation of breeds such as the Don. Some believe that the Deliboz, a very small (1.40 m), grey-coated horse from the same state, is a specific Karabakh lineage.
