The Peruvian Paso horses
Very gentle, calm, and cooperative. Very hardy, robust, enduring, and resistant, this energetic horse is sure-footed. Raised, lateral gaits specific to Paso breeds (paso corto, paso fino and paso largo).
Caractère et aptitudes du cheval
The Peruvian Paso or Peruvian steppe horse is descended from ancient Iberian bloodlines, Spanish Genets, Andalusians, and Barbs, brought to Latin America by the Spanish in the 15th century.
It was developed in Peru in the 16th century. A blood brother of the Paso Fino, it was exported to Europe in 1973.

This excellent saddle horse, whose gait offers the rider exceptional comfort adapted to rugged terrain, is also a dressage and parade horse.

Straight or slightly convex head profile. Open nostrils. Small, wide-set ears. Short, strong neck. Shoulder long and sloping. Broad brisket. Short back. Loin broad and short. Croup rounded and swallowed. Limbs fine, lean, well muscled. Cannons short. Long pasterns. Very hard hooves. Tail set low, carried drooping. Coat: all colors except piebald and albino. Thick, dense, long manes. Size: 1.47 to 1.55 m.
